The ingredients needed to make Raw Mango Rice:
  1. Make ready 2 cups rice
  2. Get 1 big raw mango
  3. Make ready 3-4 tsp Oil
  4. Prepare 1 tsp mustard seeds
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp urad dal
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp chana dal
  7. Take As per taste Peanut
  8. Get 2 tsp curry patta
  9. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric
  10. Prepare 2-3 dry red chilis
  11. Prepare As per taste Salt
  12. Get Pinch hing (optional)
  13. Prepare 2 tsp coconut (optional)
Instructions to make Raw Mango Rice:
  1. First cook the rice, usually I add lil salt & 1 tsp oil while cooking rice. Once rice is cooked keep it aside to cool down. (Don't make very sticky rice)
  2. Nicely wash, Peel & Grate mango. Keep all ingredients handy now we need them one after the other quickly.
  3. In a pan add 2-3 spoons oil, fry peanut & keep aside.
  4. In same oil add urad daal & chana daal. Keep stirring & Let it change the colour to light brown. Keep flame on medium-low. Daal should not burn.
  5. Add mustard seeds, dry red chilli, and curry patta.
  6. Add turmeric and hing give a stir now add grated mango and salt. Mix and cook for 2 minutes or till mango become little soft.
  7. If you like coconut then add grated coconut also else skip this step.
  8. Now add fried peanut & mix.. Add 2 tsp of water and cooked rice. Mix it nicely. Cover the pan and cook for 2-3 minute. tangy mango rice is ready.
  9. You can serve with fryums, papad or coconut chutney. Enjoy your summer meal!!!!
